Mr. Corneau has practiced bankruptcy law since 2002, during which time he has represented debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors' committees and other parties in interest in various complex Chapter 11 cases. He has counseled clients in a wide variety of industries, including commercial and residential construction, financial services, professional services, real estate ownership and development, and retail.

  • Conflicts counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of In re The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc., et al. (parent company of A&P, Waldbaum's, and Pathmark, among others);
  • Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of In re West End Financial Advisors, LLC, et al. (a defunct financial advisory firm);
  • Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 case of In re Rhodes Associates Executive Search, Inc. (an executive placement firm);
  • Counsel to certain secured creditors in In re R. Esmerian, Inc. and In re Ralph Esmerian (a well-known dealer of fine jewels and antiquities);
  • Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 case of In re Dreier LLP (formerly a 250-lawyer law firm based in New York City);
  • Counsel to largest unsecured creditor in the Chapter 11 cases of In re 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (children's television programming);
  • Counsel to Sirius XM Radio, Inc. in Chapter 11 cases of In re Chrysler LLC, et al. and In re General Motors Corporation, et al.
  • Counsel to homeowners' association in Chapter 11 cases of In re MSR Resort Golf Course, LLC, et al. (owners of luxury golf resorts);
  • Counsel to landlord of corporate headquarters of the debtor in Chapter 11 case of In re Cynergy Data, LLC;
  • Counsel to a bidder for an ambulatory surgical center in the Chapter 11 cases of In re Capitol Health Management, Inc., et al.
  • Counsel to Arena Media Networks, LLC in its Chapter 11 proceeding (developer of advertising content delivery system installed in professional sports venues); and
  • Counsel to the Chapter 7 trustee of Alliance Bancorp and Alliance Mortgage Investments, Inc. (formerly an Alt-A mortgage lender).

Mr. Corneau is a 1999 graduate of Boston University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science, and a 2002 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law. At Hofstra, Mr. Corneau was the President of the Moot Court Board, and the winner of the 2001 Intra-School Moot Court Competition. Mr. Corneau was also a competitor in the 2001 National Moot Court Competition and the 2002 Chief Judge Conrad B. Duberstein Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Corneau is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
