With a wealth of knowledge and real life experience in all areas of business including, finance, accounting, operations and strategy, Mr. Gebrael has been able to guide clients through complex business reorganizations and counsel both debtors and creditors, individual and corporate, on bankruptcy issues. Mr. Gebrael is also very skillful in forming corporate entities and contract drafting; he has negotiated and drafted asset purchase and sale, membership interest purchase and sale, employment, stock sale, consignment, and operating agreements. He recently closed a transaction for an international conglomerate that purchased a company in the United States with subsidiaries overseas. Mr. Gebrael has also represented clients in bankruptcy litigation matters. He represented a trade creditor in a claim against Delphi Corp. in its chapter 11 case, and he has also prosecuted, defended and settled many preference claims.
Mr. Gebrael earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in 2000 and a Masters in Business Administration in 2004, both from the Schulich School of Business in Ontario, Canada, ranked as the #1 business school in Canada by the The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and The Economist. Before starting his legal career, he worked in the fields of management, operations, manufacturing and retail.
Mr. Gebrael received his law degree from New York Law School in 2007, where he was on the Dean’s List in 2006 and 2007, a Moot Court member and a finalist in several national moot court competitions. Mr. Gebrael was also one of only eight students chosen for the New York Law School Arbitration Clinic, where he represented clients in arbitration claims in front of the National Association of Securities Dealer. Before joining Klestadt & Winters LLP, Mr. Gebrael worked at the NASD and at a securities litigation law firm.
Mr. Gebrael is admitted to practice in New York State as well as in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
